Description
DuckDuckGo doesn't store your search history and creates no ad profile. Results are the same for everyone: no filter bubble. The engine also offers a mobile browser and an extension to block trackers. US-based, but no personal data is collected.
My take
The easiest way to start, and real progress compared to Google. I preferred Brave Search for its independent index: my comparison is in chapter 3.

DuckDuckGo is the best known and the easiest to start with, but its results come from Bing's index. Startpage relays Google results anonymously. Qwant is French and hosted in Europe.
