Hi, I'm Guillaume
. Former Marketing & Product Director, author of
Vivre sans Google.
In brief
20 years of marketing and product leadership in tech: Allociné, Oscaro, Aramisauto, Legalstart.
Graduate of ESSEC, with studies at INSEAD and Télécom Paris. I spent years building and optimizing the very ecosystems I now critique.
In 2025, I deleted my Google account. My LinkedIn post about this experience was viewed over 400,000 times.
I wrote Vivre sans Google, the book to take back control of your digital life without going back to the stone age.
My journey
My digital adventure began in 2006 with my first startup. The internet was a space of total freedom.
I then spent twenty years on the other side. I optimized acquisition funnels, measured users, fed algorithms. One day, I understood the platforms had taken on too much importance.
Twenty years at the core
It all started in 2006 with monCV.com, a startup incubated at ESSEC Ventures: product creation, fundraising, 250,000 users. Then international marketing at Allociné (3 years, expansion to Brazil, Germany and Spain), and marketing leadership at Oscaro, a leading auto parts e-commerce company.
In 2015, I joined Aramisauto as Marketing, Communications and Product Director, until the IPO six years later.
From 2023 to 2026, I'm Chief Revenue Officer at Legalstart. Meanwhile, a realization was growing: the tools I spent 20 years optimizing are also the ones capturing the most personal data.
The spark
I deleted my Google account. Not just stopped using it: I erased twenty years of history, emails, photos, GPS data.

Your digital life belongs to you...
I deleted my Google account. 🗑️
Gmail, Google Photos, Chrome, Maps, Drive: all gone.
Why? To finally take back control of my privacy.
I shared this experience on LinkedIn thinking it might interest a few tech enthusiasts. The post went viral. 400,000 people read it. Thousands wrote to me: professionals, parents, citizens. All with the same feeling of being locked in.
Passing it on
Faced with the overwhelming response, I realized what was missing: a method. Not a moralizing speech, but a practical book written by someone who knows the system from the inside. That's how Vivre sans Google was born.
Today, I write a newsletter (The Spark) and I help everyone reclaim their personal digital sovereignty.

What is Guillaume Limare's background?
A graduate of ESSEC, with studies at INSEAD and Télécom Paris. I co-founded monCV.com, led international marketing at Allociné, then marketing at Oscaro and at Aramisauto up to its IPO, before heading revenue at Legalstart. Twenty years building the very ecosystems I now help people leave.
Why did Guillaume Limare delete his Google account?
Because I measured what Google knew about me: twenty years of emails, photos, searches and trips, tied to a single account. I wanted to check whether you could live without it, comfortably. The answer is yes, and it became a book.
