LM Studio gives local AI a real interface: model downloads, chats, settings, everything by mouse. The app is especially optimized for Apple Silicon Macs (Metal acceleration) and also runs on Windows and Linux. Free for both personal and professional use since 2025. The app itself is not open source, unlike the models it runs.
