Description
FreeTube is a desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) that plays YouTube videos without a Google account. Subscriptions and history are stored locally, no ads are shown and SponsorBlock is built in. The flip side: YouTube regularly changes its defenses, and some videos may fail to load until an update ships.
My take
I tested it for several weeks: importing my 35 channels took two minutes. I ended up going back to the browser, more reliable day to day. Both approaches are in chapter 9.
